At TOM, we supported
@MercadoLibre in developing
Beta Hub, an online and free
learning community that allows
young people from Latin America
to take their first steps in the
tech space through courses,
activities, and challenges.
The Client
Founded in 1999, Mercado Libre is the largest e-commerce platform in Latin America. With a presence in 18 countries, it has revolutionized digital commerce in the region, connecting millions of buyers and sellers and fostering the growth of e-commerce and fintech.
The challenge
The Beta-Hub web application was in prototype MVP mode and initial results where spectacular, with massive interest from the user base and great feedback from the partners. Takeoff Media was selected to bring the website from MVP to full production status, revamping the infrastructure, upgrading the UX and functionality based on findings and user feedback, and implementing new functionalities that enabled the MercadoLibre operations team to manage the course offering and the participant’s registrations in a more efficient way.
Solution
We provided a comprehensive solution, including re-developing the website’s frontend and implementing a robust cloud infrastructure. This approach ensured we minimized vulnerabilities and protected the integrity of the platform. We redesigned the registration process and introduced a more rigorous verification system with real-time validations to meet age requirements. We implemented clear guides to orient users from the first contact, ensuring that only those who met the specific criteria started the process, avoiding frustration and overhead.
Results
The new website provides a secure and efficient platform that maximizes registration effectiveness, ensuring applicants match the desired profile. The goal is a more precise filtering process that captures more registrations from the target audience, avoiding non-matching applications and optimizing the time spent on selection. At the same time, thanks to security measures, we protect sensitive data and guarantee operational stability.
